Important Dates
Annual closure late August through September: The Student Machine Shop and select MakerSpace equipment will be offline from the beginning of MECH 220 and MECH 512 until the end of September. Check the mech tech access schedules for details.
Starting January 2024: check-in with student card will be required for entry.
Accessing Spaces & Equipment
After you have completed all necessary orientations and training, you can use our mech tech access system to see schedules and to book access tags and equipment in our Machine Shop & MakerSpace. If you don’t already have a mech tech access account:
- Go to mech tech access: https://mechshopbooking.bookedscheduler.com/Web
- If you are a first time user, register for an account. Please note: You are not required to volunteer any personal information that you prefer to keep private. Other users will be able to see your contact information and the site is not secure. Please email mshop@mech.ubc.ca if you have any questions or concerns.
- Check your email (spam folder too) for the activation authorization.
- Book your access tag and if needed, machine(s).
Please note that you must possess (book) an access tag before booking equipment. If all access tags are booked then the facility is at capacity and you need to book at another time.
