Electronics Shop & Lab

The Electronics Shop provides a variety of services to Mechanical Engineering students and faculty, while our Electronics Lab provides suitable space and equipment to do electronics coursework.

Electronics Shop

Our services include design or design review, prototype build services, and equipment loans. We also provide advice and training on electrical safety and the requirements of the BC Safety Standards Act and the Canadian Electrical Code.   • Location: KAIS 1220
  • Hours: The Electronics Shop is open Monday to Friday (excluding holidays) at the following times:
    • 9:00 am – 12:00 pm, by appointment only. Please email eshop@mech.ubc.ca to schedule an appointment.
    • 1:00 pm – 4:30 pm, open for drop-in services such as consultations, equipment loans, component purchases, etc.

Electronics Lab

The Electronics Lab is a well-equipped electronics assembly and test facility open for MECH & MANU student use, and available to MECH faculty and staff as well.
